Cast Away isn't just about casting films — it's also about watching them. Every film and TV page has a Watch widget in the right sidebar that tells you where to stream, rent, or buy.
The Watch widget is organized into three tabs, in the order that makes sense for how you actually watch films:
Already included in a subscription
Listed first because it's the cheapest option. If you've told Cast Away which services you pay for, the ones you already have are highlighted above the rest.
Digital rentals
Apple TV, Amazon, Google Play, YouTube, Vudu — sorted by price. The cheapest rental leads the list.
Digital purchase
The same vendors, sorted by price. For films you want to own.
Every row links out to the vendor. Clicking a price takes you directly to the film's page on that service.
On your profile, you can mark which streaming services you already subscribe to. Cast Away never asks for your credentials or account data — you just pick the logos from a list.
Once set, the Watch widget becomes smart:
Availability data comes from JustWatch, the same metadata provider used by most streaming aggregators. JustWatch tracks where every film and show is available across every country, and Cast Away licenses that data via their official API.
There's a "Powered by JustWatch" attribution at the bottom of every widget that includes watch data, as required by their terms.
What Cast Away does and doesn't know
Cast Away never asks for your streaming service passwords, your theater account, or your purchase history. The personalization system only knows what you explicitly told it — your chosen subscriptions, your zip, and your favorite theaters. That data stays on your device wherever possible.
